A new vet has joined the team at the Tea Vet Clinic bringing with her knowledge of both large and small animals.

Dr. Robin Gades (pictured at right) stepped into her new role as Veterinarian for the Tea Vet Clinic. Dr. Gades has previously worked in Belle Fourche and has experience in both large and small animal care.

Dr. Gades is a Hartford native who loves the area and the people in it.

“Staying close to family has always been important to me. After graduating from Hartford, I attended Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Ames, Iowa, for four years before moving to South Dakota State University, Brookings, for four years of undergraduate schooling,” Dr. Gades said.

After working for two years in the Belle Fourche vet clinic, Dr. Gades knew it was time to return to a location that was better suited to her needs and her skill level.

“In the beginning of August, I was hired on at the Tea Vet Clinic and I am so looking forward to getting back into private practice to work with patients again to keep all the pets in the area healthy or getting back to feeling better when they are ill,” she said.

Dr. Tom Rentschler has owned the Tea Vet Clinic since 2004. Employing four veterinarians, five veterinarian technicians, one groomer, seven assistants, and three receptionists as one big happy family, when he met Dr. Gades, he knew she would make a wonderful addition to the team.

“Dr. Gades is extremely intelligent. Her veterinary skills from diagnostic to surgery are great and she is very compassionate with staff and clients alike,” said Dr. Rentschler.

The small-town family feeling is what has helped the Tea Vet Clinic thrive for over 20 years.

“We treat your pets how we treat our own pets, and that’s what we feel sets us apart from other locations in the area,” Dr. Renschler said.

After meeting the staff, Dr. Gades knew it was the vet clinic that she could call home.

“My favorite part of my job so far has been getting to know the staff and how great everyone is. I am starting to meet new clients and the patients, and have received a wonderful welcome,” Dr. Gades said.

Ready for more work, Dr. Gades is ready to meet all her new patients.

“I can’t wait to meet all of my new patients, and their families that bring them into the clinic. I specialize in general practice, so I am able to provide general medicine and surgery to all small animals in the area if the need arises,” she said.
