Three Tea soccer players to represent South Dakota in major tournaments

Finley Husby, Denver Schwartzle and Grayson Woodis started playing soccer with the Tea Park and Rec program in the early years.  As their love of soccer progressed, they began playing with Dakota Alliance Soccer Club Competitive Program.  There they have been under the coaching guidance of Mekennon Afa, a long time Tea resident who recently moved to Sioux Falls, for the last 5 years.  As the team progressed, they found themselves traveling to Omaha, Kansas City, Minneapolis, Chicago, and more to compete in more competitive environments. They compete in both tournaments and more recently, Leagues. Schwartlze played in the Nebraska Youth Soccer League this spring and has also played in the Kansas City League.  Husby and Woodis have played in the Kansas City Leagues and most recently played in the Midwest National League and Nebraska Youth Soccer League where they went undefeated.

Denver Schwartzle and his Silver team will be heading to Des Moines, Iowa from June 11-14th to represent South Dakota in The President’s Cup boys U13 Division.  The US Youth Soccer President’s Cup is a premier, nationwide, second-tier competitive tournament.  They were challenged by Watertown at the State Championships in May and came out on top.  They will be playing against teams from IA, KS, MN, MO, ND, and NE.  

Grayson Woodis and Finley Husby and their Black team will be heading to Salt Lake City, UT from July 16-23 to represent South Dakota in the US Youth Soccer Boys National Championships U13 Division. This tournament features top boys’ teams competing for the National Title.  They will be playing against teams from IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, MN, MI, MO, NEB, ND, OH, and WI.

Cliff Avenue in Sioux Falls. The SFCFC game time is 1PM and SF Thunder game time is 5PM.

• Pizza Ranch in Tea. Let the boys and their teammates serve you and your family from 4:30-8:30 on July 6th.
