Titan Games: Homecoming festivities kick off Sunday

Homecoming festivities begin this weekend with the tLINK Kickball Tournament at the Tea City Athletic Complex beginning at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13. That evening, beginning at 6 p.m. a Powderpuff Football game will be played at the Titan Athletic Complex. 

The Theme for this year’s Homecoming is “Titan Games”. 

Festivities continue on Monday, Sept. 14 with Coronation taking place at the high school Performing Arts Center, beginning at 7 p.m. One of the highlights of that event is the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen.  This year’s royalty court is pictured above. 

Also on Monday the Titan boys’ golfers will be at Brookings for a 10 a.m. meet. 

On Tuesday, Sept. 15 events continue with the a double header soccer match-up against Pierre beginning at 4 p.m. 

The varsity girls are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. followed by the boys at 6 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. 

Also on Tuesday, the Titan volleyball team will host Brookings with the varsity slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Sept. 16 Senior athletes and the Homecoming Court will go to Elementary Building for visits and lunch visits.

On Thursday, Sept. 17 their will be another double header soccer match at Sioux Falls Washington, beginning at 4 p.m.

On Friday, Sept. 18 a Pep Rally will be held at the high school at 11:30 a.m. The varsity boys’ golf team will competed at the Mitchell Invite at 10:30 a.m. 

The Tea Area Homecoming Parade will also take place on Friday, Sept. 13 at 1:30 p.m. Parade line-up will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the on the north end of the high school parking lot. 

The parade route will move East on Brian, South Main Ave, West on Holly St., North on Cole (returning to the high school parking lot Southwest entrance by the ticket booth. Following Friday afternoon’s parade the Tailgating will begin in the high school parking lot at 4 p.m. featuring a variety of food trucks. The Titan football game against Sturgis will kick-off at 6 p.m. that evening. 

There will be dress-up days throughout the week as well. District-wide days include: Sports - Jersey Day on Monday, Sept. 14; Candyland - Neon Day on Tuesday, Sept. 15; Guess Who? - Character Day (favorite Character TV/Movie/Game) on Wednesday, Sept. 16; UNO - Class Colors on Thursday, Sept. 17; and Titan Spirit Day on Friday, Sept. 18.
