Titan girls fall in Border Battle

On Friday, Jan. 9 the Tea Area High School girls’ basketball team took on West Fargo Horace during the Border Battle at the Pentagon. Horace jumped out early and the Titans couldn’t recover, suffering the 70-41 loss.Â
Tea Area was led by Anna Binde who finished with 12 points in the game, going two of four from downtown. Binde also grabbed six rebounds and had one assist. Emma Lingren finished with ten points, going five of seven from the field. She pulled down five rebounds. Ellie Clayberg finished with eight points and one assists. Jayna VanLaecken had five points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal. Jaycie Babb scored four points, grabbed two rebounds, had three assists and one steal. Natalie Gass scored two points for the Titans.Â
With the loss the Titans drop to 6-2 on the season. They will look to rebound on Thursday, Jan. 15 when they travel to Sioux Falls Jefferson. On Saturday, Jan. 17 the Titans will host Aberdeen Central in a 3 p.m. game.Â
On Tuesday, Jan. 20 Tea Area will host Watertown in a 7 p.m. match-up and be at Mitchell on Thursday, Jan. 22.
