Titan girls fall to Yankton

On Aug. 25 the Tea Area High School girls’ soccer team traveled to Yankton and suffered the 3-0 loss.
The Gazelles entered the game unbeaten at 3-0. Tea Area came into the match-up at 2-2.
Yankton controlled much of the possession early and capitalized on its opportunities in the attacking third.
Yankton went up 1-0 early and added another goal before halftime, giving them 2-0 advantage. Yankton extended its in the second half, eventually earning the 3-0 win.
Tea Area continued to compete and created several opportunities, particularly in the second half. The Titans were able to work the ball into Yankton’s defensive third on multiple occasions, but the Gazelles consistently managed to close down the opportunities and protect their lead.

On Saturday, Sept. 5 the Titan girls will travel to Aberdeen to take on Aberdeen Central at 11 a.m. On Tuesday, Sept. 8 they will be at Watertown for a 5 p.m. game. They will be home again on Thursday, Sept. 10.
