Titan golf team captures second at WC Invite

On Monday, May 6 the Tea Area High School girls’ golf team competed in the West Central Invite. 

As a team the Titans finished second. 

“The girls played so good,” said Titan head coach Nick Berg. “Second place finish as a team, against a very tough field, was our best finish for a Tea girls’ team!”

Leading the way for Tea Area was Abby Munson who tied for second with an 84. Izzy McNaughton tied for fifth with an 85. Sophie McNaughton earned a tenth place finish with a score of 87. Taylor King shot a 90 to finish in 16th place. Kenna Vavra shot a 104 to place 42nd. Lizzy Mehlbrech shot 116 to finish in 57th. 

Winning the team title at the Invite was the team from Sioux Falls Christian. Individually, Dakota Valley’s Katie Betsworth shot an 81 to win the Invite. 

The Titans will compete in the Vermillion Invitational on Monday, May 13 and will be at Spring Creek for the Conference Tournament on Monday, May 20. 

Regions will be held at Elk Point on May 23 with State scheduled to be held June 3 and 4 at Bakker Crossing.
