Titan golfers compete at State

On Monday, Oct. 6 and Tuesday, Oct. 7 the Tea Area golfers competed in the 2025 State AA Golf Tournament at the Meadowbrook Golf Course in Rapid City.
The Titans were led by Quentin Maag who finished tied for 32nd with a two-day total of 159. Maag shot a 78 on day one (39, 39) and an 81 on day two (38, 43). His two days of golf were highlighted by three birdies.
Landon Baker was right behind Maag finishing tied for 39th. He shot a two-day total of 160. On day one he shot an 80 (41, 39) and on day two he shot an 80 (40, 40). He had one birdie during the Tournament.
Sawyer Slack finished in 61st place for Tea Area at State, shooting a two-day total of 166.
Slack shot an 87 on day one (47, 40) and a 79 on day two (42, 37). He had two birdies in the Tournament.
Gavin Shawd finished tied for 82nd with a two-day total of 172. Shawd shot an 85 (44, 41) on day one and an 87 (43, 44) on day two.
Blake Lundin tied for 91st with a two-day total of 178. Lundin shot an 88 on day one (46, 42) and a 90 on day two (49, 41). He had one birdie at State.
Tea Area’s CJ Slack (pictured at right) tied for 94th with a two-day total of 181. On day one he shot an 86 (44, 42) and on day two he shot a 95 (49, 46).
Winning the State AA golf individual title was Taten Mauney from Sioux Falls O’Gorman, shooting a two day total of 142. Winning the team title was Harrisburg. O’Gorman finished second and Sioux Falls Lincoln rounded out the top three. Tea Area finished 13th among the 18 teams competing.
