Titan golfers place second at Charger Invite; Sawyer Slack earns top individual honors

The Tea Area High School boys golf team captured second as a team at the Chargers Invitational boys’ golf tournament held early September at Spring Creek Golf Course.
Tea Area earned second place with a team score of 290. Vermillion won the team title with a 288. Dakota Valley was third (303), host Sioux Falls Christian was fourth (308) and Tri-Valley (315) was fifth.
Tea Area’s Sawyer Slack beat Chamberlain’s Chase McQuirk in a playoff for individual honors, each shooting a 5-under 67.
Tea Area’s Landon Baker shot 1-under to finish with a 71 and take fifth place.
Quentin Maag also earned a medal at the Meet taking 15th with a score of 75. Blake Lundin took 18th with a 77, Jaxson Drury 61st with an 88 and Carson Case 62nd with an 89.
