Four members of the Tea Area High School girls golf team have qualified for the 2026 South Dakota Class “AA” State Golf Tournament, set for June 1-2 at Cattail Crossing Golf Course in Watertown.

Qualifying for the Titans were junior Taylor Lowe, sophomore Makenna Vavra, and freshmen Camie Powell, and Rylee Loe (pictured above). The quartet earned the opportunity to compete against the top golfers in the state at the two-day, 36-hole tournament.

“I am excited to watch these four golfers compete at the state meet. These girls have had a lot of success this season and have truly stepped into leadership roles,” said Titan head coach Nicholas Berg. “I know they will represent all the hard work and dedication that each and every girl in the program put in this season. No matter the outcome, these girls are true representatives of our Tea Area Titans.”

The Class “AA” State Tournament will feature 18 holes of play on both Monday and Tuesday, June 1 and 2, with individual champions determined by the lowest combined two-day score. Team standings will be based on the four lowest aggregate scores from each qualifying team during each round.

Tournament play begins at 8 a.m. both days at Cattail Crossing Golf Course. According to SDHSAA tournament guidelines, the top 25 individual finishers and top six teams in Class “AA” will receive awards.

Golfers qualified for the state tournament based on season-long scoring averages, with the qualifying standard for Class “AA” girls set at 106.
