Titan wrestlers place second in team standings at Conference Tourney

On Saturday, Jan. 23 the Tea Area High School wrestling team traveled to Hartford to compete in the Dak XII Conference

Tournament. Strong showings by the Titan wrestlers resulted in a second place finish as a team, accumulating 156 points. Canton claimed first with 265.5 points, Dell Rapids third with 149 points, Vermillion fourth (119), and Madison rounded out the top five (95.5).

“We’re very pleased with our team’s performance top-to-bottom at the conference tournament,” said Titan head coach John Niesen. “The DAK XII has some tough competitors from both class A and class B, and our kids fought hard and never backed down from a challenge. You shoot for first, but there’s no shame in taking runner-up to a team like Canton.”
