Titans battle Roosevelt, fall to Aberdeen Central
The Tea Area High School boys’ soccer team battled through a pair of matches last week, earning a tie against Sioux Falls Roosevelt before suffering a 5-0 loss to Aberdeen Central.
The Titans opened the week Tuesday, Sept. 1, against Sioux Falls Roosevelt. Tea Area struck first when senior forward Dawood Toto found the back of the net with 3:58 remaining in the first half.
The Rough Riders answered late in the match, to even the contest at 1-1.
Both teams made frequent substitutions throughout the match, particularly in the second half, as players worked to maintain the pace of play.
With storm clouds in the air, the stadium was cleared as soon as the match wrapped up for an immediate evacuation as rain moved into the area.
