Titans defeat West Central

On Thursday, Jan. 4 the Tea Area High School girls’ basketball team took on West Central and were able to hang on for the 57-47 victory.

Tea lead 32-16 at the half but the Trojans outscored Tea 15-7 in the third. However Tea scored 18 points in the final quarter to get the win. 

Katie Vasecka led the team with a double-double, scoring 26 points and pulling down 16 rebounds. Mara Grant also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Ellie Clayberg finished with 13 points, Anna Binde had five and Jaycie Babb two.

Leading the team in assists was Vasecka with five. Miah Weber had four in the match-up. Vasecka also led the team in steals with three. Haidyn West had two steals. 

The Titans were scheduled to travel to Sioux Falls Jefferson on Thursday, Jan. 11. On Saturday, Jan. 13 the Titans will host Aberdeen Central at 3 p.m. On Tuesday, Jan. 16 the Titans will host Watertown.
