Titans fall to Huron in Homecoming game

On a hot Friday night, the Tea Area Titans hosted Huron in the 2025 Homecoming match-up.

Tea Area struggled to get their offense going and faced a 9-0 deficit at the half. The scoring drought continued for the Titans who dropped the match-up 16-0.

The Titans finished with just 77 yards of offense. Huron had 215. 

For the Titans, Mitch Grant completed six of 20 passing attempts for 28 yards. He also led the rushing attack with 24 yards on the night. Braeden Gniffke had 15 yards, Carter Brown eight and Kade Korleski two. Korleski had three catches on the night for ten yards. Grifin Wiebenga had two catches for 11 yards and Brown had one catch for seven yards. 

Defensively, Chase DeBoer and Hayden Bialas each had a sack in the game. Bialas also had a forced fumble and fumble recovery. Emmett DeGeest led the team in tackles with 12. Brown had eight, Kingston Nyberg had seven, and Wiebenga and DeBoer finished with six each. Wiebenga was also credited with breaking up two passes in the game. Leyton Moran, Caden Bohnenberger and Korleski each broke up one pass.  

The Titans look to bounce back this Friday, Sept. 19 when they take on 0-3 Douglas at Douglas High School. Game time is set for 6 p.m. Mountain Time.
