The Tea Area High School football team delivered a dominant performance on both sides of the ball last Friday, Oct. 3, defeating Brookings 20-0 at home. The Titans racked up more than 356 yards of total offense while holding the Bobcats to just 59.

Tea Area got on the board in the first quarter when Brenner Konrad punched in a one-yard touchdown run. Cameron Hillestad added the extra point to give the Titans an early 7-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Konrad struck again, this time from two yards out. The two-point conversion attempt was no good, but Tea Area extended its advantage to 13-0.

Later in the quarter, quarterback Mitch Grant connected with Griffin Wiebenga on a 22-yard touchdown pass, putting the Titans ahead 20-0—a lead they held through the final whistle.

Grant completed three of seven passes for 62 yards through the air. On the ground, Tea Area’s rushing attack was relentless. Carter Brown led the effort with 103 yards on 13 carries. Kade Korleski added 88 yards on 15 carries, Grant contributed 77 yards on 11 carries, and Konrad finished with 19 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries.

Defensively, the Titans were just as impressive. Hayden Bialas led the defense with nine tackles, including 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble. Chase DeBoer tallied four tackles, two sacks, and two tackles for loss. Thiik Lual added four tackles and a half-sack, while Braeden Gniffke and Kingston Nyberg each recorded three tackles, with Nyberg also adding a half-sack.

With the win, Tea Area improves to 5-1 on the season. The Titans will look to keep their momentum going when they host Watertown this Friday, Oct. 10.

The Arrows enter the matchup with a 2-4 record, including wins over Mitchell (46-18) and Douglas (48-0), and losses to Yankton (52-26), Pierre (41-19), and Spearfish (23-12). Kick-off is set for 6 p.m.
