The Militiamen Veterans Motorcycle Club ran their annual Poker Run through Tea on Saturday, July 30.

Over 100 bikers from the area swung through the Tea American Legion Hall, raising $5,000 for the Tea Veteran’s Memorial. After morning registration, both veteran and citizen bikers started the run that looped through Meridian Corner in Hudson, through Hartford and then back to Tea.

“As always, it was nice to have everyone arrive back safely,” said Jason Bennet, member of Militiamen VMC and an organizer for the event.

The poker run included a poker hand, a raffle and a silent auction. Attendees with the best poker hand won a cash prize, while the raffle tickets were for items donated to the event by local businesses.

Businesses that included Ace Hardware, O’Reily Auto Parts, HyVee Fresh, Fareway, Sky Lounge, Octane Ink, and others, donated items ranging from coolers, clothing, tools and camping equipment.
